Whatever happens, happens to you by you, through you; you are the creator, enjoyer and destroyer of all you perceive.

Stillness is what creates love. Movement is what creates life. To be still and still moving - this is everything.

::: My love for yoga is fearless.

I teach to serve my community with the intention to inspire and support continual growth—on an individual and collective scale. Since receiving my first teaching certification in 2008, and now with over 1,000 hours of training, my teaching style continues to evolve alongside my practice.

My classes are rooted in traditional yoga and meditation practices, using scientific methods intended to empower a state of balance, control and freedom—especially within the mind. Sequenced in a mandala fashion, classes are designed to target all major joint rotations and marma points (energy points), activating the entire body to bring each student to a more grounded, centered state. With the intention to fuel a collective evolution, my style focuses on raising awareness for the perceived limitations that hold us back, while guiding students towards a state of equilibrium so as to achieve a connection with their highest potential.

As a rock climber, contortionist, dancer, and overall athlete by heart, my experience in constantly pushing my limits has taught me the wisdom that lies behind the art and science of balance.  What I have discovered along the way is that the key to balance lies within the subtleties - the art of playing with our boundaries while honoring our limits. This dance between control and surrender demonstrates the importance of awareness, shedding light on the unrecognized, untapped potential that lies within each of us. This acts as a strong reminder for me when on the climbing wall, or even while preparing to teach.

After discovering yoga at age 15, I was immediately drawn to the practice for more reasons than just physical movement. The philosophy felt very aligned with what I knew to be true, and the practice quickly became my sacred space. Five years into my practice, I followed my teacher to Thailand in pursuit of a deeper understanding of yoga and its roots. Upon my arrival back to the States, I noticed my perspective on life was so much more at ease. This is when I knew I wanted to teach in order to share the benefits of this ancient wisdom with my community.

Since then, I have continued to seek training under authentic teachers and have explored various styles, which has influenced what my teaching style has become today. Most recently, I have had the honor to study under Guruji Andrey Lappa (Founder of Universal Yoga), accomplishing both Level I and II trainings (2018 and 2019).

It is my true honor to be in this role as a teacher, especially of such a profound practice. But this does not set me apart from anyone, including my students — as to be a teacher, one must continue to practice what one teaches.

Last but not least, thank you for your curiosity.  Thank you for giving me the opportunity to offer what I have learned — and even better, thank you for being my teacher as well.

Namasté,

Karli
