"Stillness is what creates love. Movement is what creates life. To be still and still moving -- this is everything." -Do Hyun Choe
::: My teaching style focuses on intelligent sequencing, alignment, body mechanics and the philosophy of yoga, all with the intention to encourage students to keep growing beyond their perceived limitations. As a climber, (amateur) dancer, and overall athlete by heart, I believe that we are all capable of more than we think we are, we tend to surprise ourselves when we try, and continue challenging my students to see this within themselves. Each class is themed to cultivate a sense of creativity, with relatable messages weaved throughout to retain the integrity of yoga and its philosophy.
After practicing for five years, I traveled to Thailand in pursuit of a deeper understanding of yoga. This was the pivot point to my practice, and I noticed my perspective on life became much more at ease. Through experiential knowledge, I teach to inspire an awareness for the patterns that hold us back with the intention to raise confidence and a higher level of self-awareness. Since becoming a Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher in 2008, I am always seeking consistent growth as a teacher and student. In addition to teaching, I have earned my BS in Community Health at Portland State University, am an outdoor enthusiast with a passion for rock climbing and backpacking, and embody a genuine love for music and dancing.
