"Stillness is what creates love. Movement is what creates life. To be still and still moving -- this is everything." Do Hyun Choe
::: My teaching style focuses on intelligent sequencing, alignment, body mechanics, and the philosophy of yoga, all with the intention to encourage each student to keep growing beyond their perceived limitations. As a climber, dancer, and overall athlete by heart, I have found that we are all capable of more than we think we are, as we tend to surprise ourselves when we try! As a teacher, I challenge my students to see this strength within themselves by guiding themed classes that cultivate a sense of creativity, coupled with relatable messages integrated throughout.
After practicing for five years, I traveled to Thailand in pursuit of a deeper understanding of yoga. This became the pivot point to my practice, as I noticed my outlook on life became much more at ease. In my effort to retain the art and integrity of yoga, I teach to inspire an awareness for the thoughts and patterns that hold us back, aiming to expand each individual’s perspective to genuinely embrace the essence of who they are, uninhibited. Since becoming a Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher in 2008, I am always seeking consistent growth as a teacher and student. In addition to teaching, I have earned my BS in Community Health at Portland State University, am an outdoor enthusiast with a passion for rock climbing and backpacking, and cultivate a genuine love for music and dancing.
